Charles Fredrich Beed was born August 30, 1876 to Thomas Beed and Caroline Mann. Cora Bell Verplank was born on September 17, 1883 to Charles Wesley Verplank and Nancy Sanders in Wright County, Iowa. She came to Nebraska and settled near Battle Creek, Nebraska.
Charles and Cora were married at Atkinson, Nebraska on August 15, 1902 and were the parents of 11 children: Audrey who died in 1921; infant son died in 1922, Eva who married Ed Sanne, Marvin married Rose Schumacher, Beulah married Alvin Oppliger, Charles married Fern Sparr, Evelyn married Millard James, Frances married Walt Furstenau, Donna who married James Bomar, Mary married Marvin Lichtenberg and Everett married Viole
