Everett Beed was born August 5, 1905 to Charles Beed and Cora Verplank at Battle Creek, Nebraska. He attended schools in Madison and Antelope Counties and graduated from Tilden High in 1924. Violet Sutherland was born January 23, 1907 to James Robert Sutherland and Molly Butts at Leigh, Nebraska. She attended school near Stanton. The family moved to the Tilden area and she graduated from Tilden High in 1926.
Everett and Violet were married
on October 9, 1926. The couple farmed
northeast of Tilden and then moved to a farm northwest of town. They moved to the Willow area and then to
a farm northeast of Elgin where they lived from 1956 to 1971. They moved in to Neligh to spend their
retirement. They were the parents of
four children: Barbara, married
Delbert Wood; William married
Marjorie; Betty married James
Bossard; and Beverly married Gary Martin. William’s children were: Sandra, Vicki, Tamera, Patricia and Michael. Betty’s children: Daniel,
Timothy, David, and Diane. Beverly
had two children, Shannon and Callen. Barbara children: Terry,
Debra, Cindy, and Kandy.
