Thomas Beed was born in England,
February 8, 1834. He was a sailor and
spent many years at sea. He came to Iowa in 1860 where he met Caroline
Mann. They lived in Iowa until they
moved near Battle Creek, Nebraska in the 1870’s. They were the parents of 11 children: George, J W, Grant, Amanda, Mary, Elmer, Bishop, Charles,
Arthur, Garfield and Thomas who died at an early age. They lived in Madison, Pierce and Antelope
counties. Charles Fredrich Beed
