Martin Ray Beeson was born at Rock Port, Missouri on January 21, 1891, the oldest of 15 children.  He worked around Rock Port for several years and then got a job with the railroad at Blair, Nebraska. 

After two years, he moved to Clearwater, Nebraska. He then went to Goose Lake and then returned to Clearwater and took up farming. He met Mary E. Schaeffer and they were married on January 24, 1917.  They had two sons, Orville Raymond and Harold Richard. 

A tornado crossed the Beeson farm and destroyed all of their machinery.  He went to work for Ernest Kinney.  Both sons graduated from Elgin High School.  Bad luck struck again when a fire burned down their house.  In 1941, they moved to the John Volk farm and worked it until 1950.  Orville joined the U S Coast Guard where he met and married Margaret Taulbe.  The had two children, Margaret Ann and James Richard.  Orville spent 26 years in the Coast Guard.  He had divorced Margaret and later married Bobbie Combs in 1953.  Harold went to Wayne State College for a year and taught school for two terms before entering the U S Navy.  He served in World War II.  Harold married Marjorie Sprout on March 3, 1945.  They had a son, Robert Bruce who was killed in action in the Vietnam War on May 4, 1967.  RaeJeanne, their daughter married Hal Lewis.   They had two sons, Jeffery Michel and James Robert.  She later married Leo Peterson and they had a son, Jonathan. 

Martin Ray Beeson died on March 27, 1967.  Margaret went to work at the Tilden Hospital.  Later she was the house mother at the girls dorm at Bartlett.
