John Binger, son of John Binger and Mary Cross, was born on July 3, 1865 near Nebraska City in Otoe County. His parents and older siblings came to the United States from Germany in the late 1850’s. He was one of seven children.
He married
Mary Schmailzl and they were parents of eight children: Clara, Henry, John, Fred, Walter, Carl,
Rudolph and Martha. John and Carl
died in infancy. John worked and
farmed in the Lincoln area. In 1911,
he purchased acreage in Antelope County northeast of Neligh. The family moved in 1912. John farmed with horses most of his
life. He died June 20, 1945 and Mary
died December 15, 1964. Clara married
Henry Rittscher, five children; Henry married Laura Brown, three children;
Fred married Wilma Faulstitch, eight children; Walter married Evelyn
Lundquist, three children; Rudolph married Grace Lockett, four children; and
Martha married Wyman Wiles.
