Dorthea (Dolly) Beer was born January 29, 1879 in Elgin, Nebraska to William Luther Beer and Mary Elizabeth Ball. She had 10 brothers and sisters.
On September 22, 1897 she
married Claude Leslie Bobbitt in Neligh, Nebraska. They were the parents of three children: V. Mae, Viola, and Cleonice. Claude and Dolly made their home in an
around Elgin all their lives except for five years in Hastings,
Nebraska. Claude passed away on
January 27, 1931. Viola had preceded
him in death in 1924. Dolly lived in
Elgin for many years after his death. Cleonice married George Raymond Johnson in 1932. They were parents of four children as well
as Viola’s daughter, Phyllis. Dolly
Bobbitt died in 1946.
