Howard S. Botsford and Laura Tennis were married at Forest City, Iowa, October 24, 1862 where they lived for seven years. They moved to Nebraska in 1869 and settled near Meadow Grove.
Laura Tennis was born near LaPorte, Indiana, October 29, 1842 and passed away at her home in California on June 8, 1934. Howard S Botsford was born in Seymour, Connecticut, February 28, 1837 and passed away on November 24, 1934. They were the parents of eleven children: Eight of them were Grace, Mary J (Sexton), Anna (Ruggles), Carrie (Whitney), Agnes (Hanson), Ellen (Shippee), Cora (Fields), and Sam. Howard Botsford was the postmaster for four years of Burnett, later changed to Tilden. The family lived in Nebraska until 1922, and then moved to California.
