Daisy Mae Branen West was the daughter of William A. Branen and Mary Bishop. They were married August 27, 1865. William A. was born August 27, 1845 and Mary was born October 14, 1847. They were the parents of fifteen children. Five sons died of diphtheria. William was in the Civil War for three years. Rosa was born Novmember 26, 1866, Remie was born April 30, 1868; Lucy born March 6, 1871; Harry born June 15, 1874; Arthur born in 1879; Don Carlos born 1884; Daisy Mae born June 22, 1887; Walter born January 1, 1883; Aretta born December 4, 1889; William born September 1873; Allie born in 1876; Lewis born October 2, 1870; Dessie born November 17, 1877 and Myrtle born May 4, 1879. Rosa Branen married Carl Woche. Remie married Phoebe Snider. Lucy married Nate Hazen. Harry married Katherien Reyolds; married Sarah Cooley. Arthur married Pearl War. Dessie married Ralph Gover. Myrtle married Earl Ziegenbein. Daisy Mae married Harlan West. Aretta married Roy Sack and George married Clara Kincaid. Mary Bishop was born in Warren County, Iowa on October 14, 1847/ Om 1965 she married William A Branen at Altona, Iowa. They came to Nebraska in 1884 and settled in Sarpy County. In 1900 Mary (widowed) moved to Springfield. She died at the age of 74 years.
