P. M. (Mack) Cornett was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 10, 1888. He was one of eight children born to Fred and Jane Cornett. At the age of six he moved with his family to Nebraska to the Meadow Grove and Tilden areas.
Nellie M. Ives was born in Tilden on January 4, 1892. She was also one of eight children born to Lucius and Frances Ives. Mack and Nellie were married February 12, 1913 and had eight children: Genevieve, Geraldine, Malcolm, Donna, Imogene, Joyce, Joanne and William. They farmed many years around the Tilden and Oakdale communities. During the depression years, the family moved to Tilden where Mack started trucking and Nellie began her 25 years of nursing at the Tilden Hospital. Mack died on August 14, 1965 and Nellie on May 27, 1980. Genevieve married Stewart McKnight. Geraldine married William C Klas. Malcolm married Eunice Yeoman. Donna married Lawrence Krause. Imogene married Ralph Kahler. Joyce married Richard Lewis. Joanne married Stanley Hopkins, and William married Majol Henderson.
