Lionel and Violet make their home southeast of Orchard. Lionel is the youngest son of the L. G. and Carrie Rankin Gibbs. He was born on the farm in 1924. Violet was the oldest and only child of John H and Jennie Hale Eley. She was born north of Orchard in 1923.
Lionel and Violet were
married in September 1947 and are the parents of daughter, Susan and son,
Steven. Susan married Rick Meyer and
they have two children. Lionel had
three brothers and two sisters: Clarence, Floyd married Helen Marshall, Hoel married Zeta Shaw, Thelma
died young, and Lillian married Phillip Buxton. She later married Delby Canaan. Violet has three brothers, Gilbert married Mary Lou Sovereign;
John Jr. married Aletha Holiday and younger brother, Robert died as an
infant.
