Slyvester P. Josten, son of Joseph Josten and Anne Penne,
was born on March 10, 1917 at Elgin, Nebraska and received his formal
education at St Boniface School in Elgin.
Bernice F Heithoff, daughter of Henry Heithoff and Mary Deitering, was
born September 24, 1922 at Elgin. She
attended St Boniface School and St Francis School of Nursing at Grand Island
and graduated in 1944. They were
married on August 22, 1946 at Elgin.
Sylvester assisted his father on the farm during World War II and
later farmed on his own. Bernice
worked many years at Antelope Memorial Hospital. They are the parents of four children: Jean Marie married Joe A Stuhr; Judy Ann
married Patrick Dwyer; James Paul married Corrine Kettler; and Doria Rita
married Ron Friehe. Sylvester and
Bernice are retired and enjoy the mild winters in Arizona.
