William A. Kallhoff, son of Theodore Kallhoff and Elizabeth Ruterbories, was born October 25, 1898 at Clearwater, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm in the St. John’s community. Anna Venteicher, daughter of Henry Venteicher and Mary Ann Riecks, was born November 11, 1898 in Rosella, Iowa. She moved with her family to Elgin in 1901 and lived on a farm and later in Elgin. She schooled at St Boniface.
William and Anna were married in Elgin on
April 5, 1921. They farmed in the
Elgin area. They had seven
children: Leonard married Patricia
Theuch; Alvin married Arlene Wheeler; Delores married Dale Hill; Irene
married Ray Flora; Evelyn married Wilfred Arehart; Floyd married Marilyn
Kapustisa; Gerald died in infancy. William and Anna retired and moved to Elgin in 1968. William died on July 5, 1972 and Anna on
April 13, 1986.
