Duane Kerkman, son of Joseph Kerkman and Isabelle Kuester, was born February 26, 1944 at Tilden, Nebraska. He attended St Boniface School and graduated in 1963. He was inducted into the Army in 1965 and spent time in Vietnam, being discharged in 1967. He was employed at the Cornhusker Ammunition Plant in Grand Island until 1970 when he returned to Elgin and began farming.
Sandra Kallhoff, daughter of Carl Kallhoff
and Marcella Lordemann. She attended
St Bonaventure School in Raeville and graduated from Petersburg High School
in 1964. Duane and Sandra were
married on July 20, 1968 at Petersburg. They are the parents of three children.
