Joe Kerkman, son of Fred and Cecilia Kerkman, was born
December 1, 1909 at Lindsay, Nebraska and moved to a farm near Elgin when he
was three. Joe married Isabelle
Kuester, daughter of John Kuester and Josephine Lampman, on September 26,
1939. They had eight children: Geraldine, Jannell, Arlene, Lyle, Duane,
Gary, Ron and Jolene. Joe was a
farmer all his married life.
