Charles B. Kinney (1866-1940), son of Hiram W. Kinney and Mary Burke was born at Marshalltown, Iowa in 1866 and came to Nebraska in 1881.

He married Belle F. Edwards (1863-1941) on January 1, 1889 at Neligh, Nebraska.  Belle had come to Nebraska from Stark County, Illinois in 1886 with her sister, Kate.  She was a school teacher in Antelope County until her marriage.  The couple lived on her father’s timber claim in the Park community.  They moved into Elgin in 1919.  They were the parents of six children:  Albert Edward who married Grace Jenkins;  Ray Hiram who married Ethel Linton;  Walter Lewis who married Ella Earle; Harvey Clay married Martha Johnson; Laura Belle married Raymond Elliott; and Charles Elmer married Lenore (died), then married Margaret.
