A. J. LEACH, was born September 19, 1834 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.  He married Esther Eliza Hill born September 20, 1836 in Naples, Ontario County, New York.  They were married December 28, 1858 in Vassar, Michigan.  They moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1867 where they lived for three years before moving to Antelope County in May 1870 where they homesteaded on Cedar Creek.  He was a pioneer leader, holding public offices in the county.  He paid the first taxes and held tax receipt Number One.  He worked as a land appraiser for the B & M Railroad Company for 15 years.  He organized the Oakdale Cemetery Association.  In 1908 he began work on the book “ The History of Antelope County”.  He and his wife had six children:  Miles H, Dewitt C, Katie M, Agnes L, Carrie E. and Gertrude, twin of Agnes who died in childhood.  Carrie E. married Vernon E Brainard.  Adoniram Judson Leach died June 10, 1919.
