Charles Crocker Lee was born July 18, 1860 in Williston, Vermont to Hiram and Harriet Crocker Lee. He came to Orchard, Nebraska from Iowa in November 1884 and homesteaded west of Orchard. He married Mary Luella Shane January 27, 1886. They stayed on the farm and raised ten children. In 1920, they moved to Orchard. Charles died February 7, 1930 and Mary on July 9, 1931. Their children were: Carrie Elma born in 1887, married Bert Hammon in 1918, ten children, later married Ben Austin. Carrie died in 1946. Bessie Irene, born September 18, 1888, married John Sims in 1908, six children, Bessie died March 6, 1969. Floyd was born December 2, 1889 and married Lena Speese on July 21, 1921, three children, Floyd died February 16, 1984. Charles Shane, born June 14, 1892, married Lulla Conners, two children. He died February 25, 1944. Willis Earl, born February 2, 1894, married to Eva Banta, three children, married Grace Briggs, one son. Willis died January 20, 1967. Zelma, born April 25, 1896 died 1898. Her twin sister, Velma, married George Robinson and died July 5, 1965. Rozella, born April 24, 1899, married Ernest Bruce, three children. Alfred Eugene, born September 1, 1902, married Leone Bonge, one son. Alfred died June 8, 1948. Cecil Hiram, born July 9, 1907, married Lucile Hudson. He died May 23, 1977.
