William Leete migrated to America from England in 1639. He was born in Dodington, England in 1613, son of John Leete and Ann Shute, daughter of Robert. William married Ann Payne in 1636 and they settled on land near New Haven, Connecticut. William died in 1683. Anson Leet (“e” dropped) moved to New York state in 1817. His son, William, married Eliza Strong. They had one child, Anson G Leet, born February 10, k1844. He married Annette Thompson in 1869. The family moved from New York to Washington, Iowa in 1880. Later they lived in West Chester, Iowa. They were parents of two children. Walter A Leet was born in Washington County, Iowa and married Elizabeth Elnora Newlon on January 19, 1910. They were parents of six children. Mildred Leet was born on January 18, 1911, oldest of the children. Mildred married Floyd Kinnan in Iowa in 1935. After their marriage, they moved to Antelope County in 1945.
