John Joseph Michaelson was born on the family farm northwest of Tilden on January 22, 1892 to Hans and Amanda George Michaelson. He attended rural school through the fourth grade. Frances Gail Baker was born near Oakdale, Nebraska on September 2, 1897. Gail received her education in Oakdale and graduated in 1916. They were married April 25, 1918 and started married life on a farm. They were parents of three daughters, Ilene, Artus and Joan. The family left the farm in 1937 and moved to Tilden. Ilene married Leo Schmitz, two children; Artus married Eugene Upton, three children; and Joan, married Paul Sheets, eight children. John Joseph died in 1960 and Frances Gail lived until 1984.
