Theodore
Schmitt was born November 14, 1889 at St Bernard, Nebraska, son of John
Schmitt and Kathyrn Schneider. Frances Preusser was born August 11, 1893 at Raeville, Nebraska,
daughter of Charles Preusser and Mary Walter. They were married on January 16, 1916 at Fordyce, Nebraska and had
nine children. Norbert was born
February 13, 1917 at Menominee, Nebraska. Leonard was born August 20, 1918 at Menominee and died when only a few
days old. Clarence was born at
Dalton, Nebraska on March 20, 1920. Wilma was born at Dalton on May 10, 1922. Helen at Raeville on July 24, 1924. Irene at Elgin on February 16, 1927. Harold was born at Elgin on May 6, 1930. Robert on March 29, 1932 at Elgin. William was born at Elgin on May 28, 1938.
Theodore and Frances lived at Menominee until 1920 and then lived at Dalton
until 1923 when they moved to a farm near Raeville. They moved to a farm east of Elgin and lived there until 1943
when because of his health, they moved into Elgin. He died December 13, 1966 and Frances died January 30,
1983. Norbert married Margaret Ann
Murrin and they had 15 children. Clarence
married Helen Marie Baum, two children. Wilma married Joseph Vanourney and they had eight children. Helen married Leo Getta, four
children. Irene married Edward
McAleer, he had two children. Harold
married Helen Werning, six children. Robert married Joyce Iverson, six children. He died June 17, 1974. William married Lois Kaczor, two children.
