CHRISTOF
DANIEL LUDWIG STELLING, the fourth son of Carl Stelling and Emma Mosel, moved
to Antelope county with his family in 1912 from Hayward, Wisconsin. They settled on a homestead two miles
south of Orchard where Chris grew to manhood. He attended St Peter’s Lutheran school. In January 1926, he married Erna D Eggen,
daughter of Charles and Clara Oetting Eggen who lived northwest of
Orchard. Chris and Erna farmed north
and west of town. Chris and Erna
children were: Lavonne, 1927, died
1933; Duane, 1930, married Violet
Auman, two sons, Timothy and Mark; Leland,
1932, married Neoma Wattermann, four children, Sheila, Lori, Jan and Dale; Karen, 1935, married to Robert Schwager,
three sons, Roger, Wayne and Michael; Kenneth, 1938, married Darlene Wacker, five children, Daniel, Debra, Denise,
Dawn, and Dean; Saundra, 1942,
married Walter Biermann, four children, David, Aaron, Joan and Leann.
