Elmer Swanson was born near Elgin in 1894. He started school in the Pleasant Hill
School and continued at District #1 on the Cedar Creek in 1906. In 1927 he married Ida Matson and lived in
the same farm home until his death in 1966. Elmer and Ida had four children: Mildred, Margy, Norma and Wayne. Ida Swanson retired in Elgin until her death in 1987.
