The first Telgren to arrive in Antelope county was ANDERS AUGUST TELGREN.  He was born on December 21, 1859 in Wimmerby, Sweden, one of eight children to Karl and Marie Telgren.  He came to America in 1875 and settled in Florence, Nebraska.  A number of Telgrens immigrated to America, the majority settling in the upper Midwest.  Two sisters, Ida and Hulda, and a brother, John Emil, also came to America.  Ida and Hulda settled in Antelope County.  On February 24, 1891, Anders married ALBERTINA JOSEPHINE BENSON, who was born in Halland County, Sweden on March 17, 1863.  They moved to Antelope County in 1893 and settled south of Oakdale.  Anders worked as an assessor and mostly as a farmer until his death in May 1931.  Albertina died in September 1920.  They had four children:  Carl Arthur, Anna Marie Elizabeth, Reuben Elmer, and Alma Albertha.  Alma was born April 25, 1898, married Otha Drake and moved to California.  Alma died in April 1989.  Reuben was born September 15, 1895, remained a bachelor and farmed, died in 1975.  Carl Arthur was born July 2, 1891 at Florence, Nebraska.  He married Lillian Maude Prevo in Antelope County and farmed until 1927, moved to Oakdale, died in 1931.  They were parents of six children:  Helen, James, Carl Arthur, Joseph LeRoy, Dorothy Mae, and Evelyn Ione.  Lillian married Ferd Kinnan in 1935.  No children.  Evelyn married Jesse Miller, three children.  Evelyn married Donald Josten.  After Don’s death, she married Kenneth Norris.  Joseph Leroy married Nina Ruth Duncan in 1929 and moved to California in 1936.  In 1946 they returned to Oakdale where Joe worked until his death in 1956.  They were parents of six children: Arden LeRoy, Paul Arthur, Randall Ray, Joseph LeRoy, David Arthur and Kimberly Kay.  Kimberly married Michael Wiseman, two children;  David enlisted in the U S Army and married Chong Su Kim in Korea, three children, John David, James Paul, and Anna Leah.  Joseph enlisted in the Air Force and married Lydia May Gingerish, two children, Joseph LeRoy and Jami Lynn.  Randall Ray enlisted in the U S Army for more than 20 years.  He married Chong Tok (Jackie), one son, Scott Ray.  Paul Arthur enlisted in the U S Army and served in Korea, married Vivian Edwards, three children, Paula Rae, Cheri Lynn, and Brad Allen.  Arden enlisted in the U S Army and served for more than 20 years, married Yoshiko Tsuneto, two children, Clifford Arthur and Nancy Ruth.
