William Tunink, son of Bernard Tunink and Thresia Lampman,
was born on October 23, 1892 in Raeville, Nebraska. He married Katharine Overmohle, daughter of Gerhard Overmohle
and Elizabeth Starman, on October 7, 1914 at Rosella, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived northwest
of Elgin. They were the parents of 10
children. Thresia was born on December
19,1916; Philomena was born on October 19, 1918 and married Al Wilwerding;
Bernard was born on August 8, 1920 and is a Benedictine priest; Elizabeth was
born April 15, 1922 and married Leo Wolff; Gerhard was born January 8, 1924
and married Amelita Hiethoff; Anthony was born September 25, 1925 and married
Alice Mitchell; Loretta was born July 22, 1927 and married LeRoy Zegers; Leo
born May 31, 1929 died in infancy; Mary Ann born June 5, 1931 married Joe
Kloewer; Helen Marie born Sept 19, 1933 died in infancy. William and Katharine retired from farming
in 1951 and moved to Elgin. William
died on December 13, 1972 and died on February 26, 1978.
