HENRY VAN ERT was born in Holland Town, Wisconsin on March 3, 1856.  Before marriage he lived with his parents and family in a sod house in Butler County, Nebraska.  Antoinette Theeuwen was born in Amsterdam, Holland on April 27, 1861.  She came to America with her parents and family in 1869.  They settled in Butler County.  She met and later married Henry in Butler County in 1878.  They lived there until 1885 when they homesteaded in Holt County.  They lived near Rushville until 1916 when they moved to a farm east of Raeville.  In 1924 they moved to a home in Elgin.  Henry died June 30, 1934 and Antoninette died May 28, 1937.  Twelve children were born to them:  three died in childhood; The remaining nine were:  Joseph, Arnold, Martin, Mary (Mrs John Graboski), Angelina (Mrs Henry Zwingman), Henrietta (Mrs John Underwood), Henry, Louis, and Helen (Mrs Frank Beck).
