Alva Wilson & Blanche Cooper
| Blanche Leona Cooper was born in Elgin, Nebraska on
February 1, 1889, daughter of Ben and Lucinda Alderson Cooper. She had four brothers and sisters: Wesley, Orville Lee, Wayne Eldon, and
Hazel Bernice. She grew up in Oakdale
and Elgin. She graduated from Elgin
High in 1918. She married Alva Guy
Wilson on February 25, 1920. Alva was
born in Pierson, Iowa, on November 17, 1893. They lived on a farm west of Elgin. Alva had a daughter, Minerva, from his first marriage. Their daughter, Madgel Wilson was born on
the farm. Mossie Wilcox Merchant
lived with them, as she taught in a country school nearby. Blanche Marie was born January 22, 1923,
Harold Alvin on August 22, 1924. The
family moved to Limon, Colorado for a short time where Floyd Kenneth was born
on September 16, 1925. They returned
to Elgin after a year and Virginia Lou was born on February 17, 1927, Donald
Eugene, March 25, 1932, Marion Dean, March 13, 1934 and Charles Wendell,
October 23, 1935. In the early 1940’s,
Alva and Blanche divorced. Alva died in California on August 6, 1970. Blanche died October 19, 1979. Minerva married Clarence Fox; Madgel married Roy Rylander; Harold married Esther Maza, served in the
Navy in WWII; Floyd served in the
Navy in WWII, married Barbara Watson; Virginia married John Saunders; Donald died December 15, 1936; and Marion married Ruth Wilson; Charles married
Shiera Noah.
