Wendell Kiester Wilson, son of Elmer Wilson and Alice
Kiester, married Carrie Alice Grove, daughter of Philo Grove and Bertha
Geers, on October 1, 1923. Wendell
and Carrie graduated from Orchard High in 1921. Wendell studied automotive mechanics and Carrie taught rural
school. After their marriage they
lived in Orchard where Wendell had a machinery business and produce station. They lived there until 1931 when they
moved to a farm north of Royal where Grove Lake is now. They lived on the Grove Homestead until
1981 when they moved back to Orchard. They were the parents of two children: Loren Grove who married Helen Jane Bearinger and Vona Lou who
married Cletus Joseph Sharer. Loren
served in the Army during WWII and Cletus was in the Army Air Corps.
