Wilfred “Red” Arehart was inducted in the Army in August 1944.  He received basic training at Camp Walters, Texas.  He was then assigned to Company B, 136th Infantry Regiment, 33rd Infantry Division.  He was engaged in the South Philippines Luzon Campaign.  When the war ended he was sent to Japan and served in the Occupation Army.  He was discharged in November 1946.
