Lyle E. Bitney entered the Army on March 13, 1942 and was discharged on October 27, 1945.  He served with the 877th Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion in the Pacific.  After his discharge, he farmed a few years and worked for Blackburn manufacturing in Neligh until retirement.  He passed away on June 12, 1969.
