A. J. (Bud) Clark enlisted in the Navy in June 1941 and trained at Great Lakes, Illinois.  He was assigned to an anti-submarine squadron, VP-93 in Norfolk, Virginia and then moved to Newfoundland in 1942 and then on to England in 1943.  Following D-Day he returned to the United States and was assigned to carrier duty for the remainder of his career.  He retired in 1961.
