Eldon James Daughhetee, son of George and Ida Daughhetee, was born October 20, 1919 at Oakdale, Nebraska.  He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1937.  He enlisted in the U S Navy on October 28, 1940 and received boot training at Great Lakes, Illinois with advanced training in Washington, D C and group I Ordnance School.  He served aboard the USS Wilkes Barre, USS Indiana, and the USS Lexington.  He was discharged on December 18, 1946.  He was married and had two children.  Picture shows Eldon with two sisters and long time friend, Wayne Rouse, who was killed in WWII.
