Merritt Henry DeCamp was born on November 15, 1913 at Clearwater, Nebraska and enlisted in the Navy on October 31, 1942.  He saw service in Nebraska, California, Virginia and in Guadalcanal, New Zealand, Philippines and Manus Islands.  He was discharged on December 17, 1945.  After the service he went into the well drilling and plumbing business until he retired.
