Kenneth R. Elwood, enlisted in the U S Army Air Corps.  He took basic training and then attended engineering school in Illinois.  He served in the Southwest Pacific area and the Philippine Islands.  He served with the 12th Fighter Squadron and was discharged in 1946.  He married Jean Young and they farmed for 30 years and operated Elwood Engine Service for 10 years.  They are he parents of four children and live in Brunswick.
