George R. Eymann

George R. Eymann, son of Chris and Hattie Eymann, was born and raised in the Oakdale Nebraska area.  He and four of his brothers all served during World War II or the post war era.  George was inducted into the Amy in October 1942.  He was sent to the Pacific area in November 1942 where he spent one year.  He transferred to the states cadet pilot training but he was sent to an infantry division in France.  He was injured due to an accident and returned to the States.  He was discharged in May 1945.  George married Bonnie Timm and after a few years, they moved to Omaha where George worked for 27 years with the Postal Service.  He retired in 1979.  They raised four children.
