Chleo G. Forsell enlisted in the U S Navy on September 10, 1942 and served in the Pacific area aboard the USS St Louis.  While aboard ship, it was heavily damaged.  He returned to Sampson Naval Hospital and then to a Veterans Hospital until June 1, 1947.  He received his discharge on October 22, 1946.
