EVERET O. ARMSTRONG, 1925-1971

Funeral services for Everet O. ARMSTRONG were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14 at Hoepfinger Funeral Home in Neligh with the Rev. Richard A. KLINE officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery and serving as pallbearers were Stanley SANNE, Vernal E. BRANDT, Irvie SCHWARTING, Dewayne Rodgers, Harold MCDONALD, and Gerald THOMSEN. He was born October 11, 1925 in Antelope County, the son of Mr and Mrs A. F. ARMSTRONG and lived his entire life in this County, graduating from Oakdale High School. He attended Wayne State College for one year and was in the military service from 1943 to 1946. He published a paper in Oakdale for several years and at the time of his death, August 11, 1971, was employed by the State Highway Department at Neligh. He served as a fireman in Oakdale, was Oakdale’s City Clerk and was secretary of the Cemetery Board. Survivors include his mother, Mrs Ruth ARMSTRONG of Oakdale, two sisters, Mrs Alice HANSEN of Gibbon, his wife Patty, and four children, Marion, Kim, Dick, and Traci. He was preceded in death by his father.
