Don V BOWMAN

Abridged: Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church for Don V Bowman. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Don V Bowman was born January 1, 1875 in Richmond Township, Crawford County, New Richmond, PA. He was the son of Albian H and Estella Navy Bowman. He attended the Methodist church in New Richmond. In 1892 he went to Virginia. In 1908 he came west to Oklahoma and North Dakota. In 1910 he came to Oakdale. He was married to Kathryn Retzlaff of Oakdale, November 14, 1918 at Neligh. All of their married life was spent in their home in the west edge of Oakdale. He passed away there on November 13, 1952. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs L. C. Higby of Seagerstown, PA, four granddaughters, two grandsons and four great grandchildren, all living in PA. Also surviving him are two sisters, Mrs George Vosburgh of Indianapolis, IN and Nettie Bowman of Union City, PA. Relatives attending the funeral were the Henry Retzlaff family of Newman Grove, Mr and Mrs Merlin Saul of Wayne, Mr and Mrs Bob Michaelson of Lincoln, Mrs Martha Mandelko of Chadron, Mrs Minnie Pratt, Mrs Emma Schuchardt, and Mr and Mrs Carl Jaschke and Bob of Neligh, Mrs Rose Ralston and Mrs J. D. Kusy of Norfolk, Mr and Mrs Joe Vasek of Elkhorn, Mr and Mrs Elmer Esau of Petersburg, Mr and Mrs Martin Gregor, Mr and Mrs Howard James, and Mrs Louis Lindbo of Tilden, Mr and Mrs Irl Wilkinson, Max Wilkinson, Mr and Mrs Chester Schuchardt and Mr and Mrs Wilbur Schuchardt of Elgin.

KATHRYN RETZLAFF BOWMAN

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 18 at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Mrs Kathryn BOWMAN, 78, with the rev. Connie J BUEHLER officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Robert AUGHE, Donald OBERSHAW, Stanley WILKINSON, Joseph HOYDA, Wilbur SCHUCHARDT and Raymond CROSIER serving as pallbearers. Mrs Kathryn BOWMAN, daughter of John and Alvina BOURKE RETZLAFF, was born February 5, 1888 at Oakdale and died Saturday night, January 14, 1967 at the University Hospital, Omaha. She is survived by TWO SISTERS, Mrs Rose RALSTON OF Norfolk and Mrs John Wilkinson of Oakdale.

Olive Irene (DILL) BOWMAN

Funeral services for Mrs. J. D. Bowman were held in the Methodist church here Friday with Elder L. O. Barnes of McCook conducting the services. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Olive Irene DILL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Dill, was born September 10, 1894, at Oakdale and departed this life December 25, 1915, at Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from Oakdale high school in 1913 and attended Wayne College, afterwards teaching in Antelope County for three years. She was united in marriage to Jesse D. Bowman on June 16, 1916 at Pierce. To this union was born one daughter, Bonnie. She is survived by her husband, Jesse, of Livingston, Mont.; her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Wahlen of Buhl, Idaho; her son-in-law; one grandson Michael Kent; her aged parents; two sisters, Mrs. Theo Crosier of Elgin and Mrs. Arthur Holmes of Berrien Springs, Mich.; four nephews and one niece. Out of town relatives here were Mr. and Mrs. Kim Dill and Miss Irene Dill of West Point and Mrs. Rose Cowin, Mrs. Ted Morris, Shirley, Burton and Donald Holmes, all of Lincoln.
