Levi BRACKETT

The funeral of the late Levi Brackett was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs I C Reno, Wednesday afternoon and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery beside the remains of his wife. Rev. A M Steele of the M. E. Church officiated. Levi Brackett was born at Claridon, NY March 1, 1833 and died at Lincoln, NE March 18, 1916, aged 83 years and 17 days. Early in life he removed to Michigan and on March 2, 1854 he was married to Mary A Rall at Flint. Mrs Brackett died at Ewing April 5, 1888. In 1884 Mr Brackett came to Oakdale and except for a short period spent in Ewing this place has been his home. During recent years, however, he spent much time at the home of his son, Fred, near Arlington. He is survived by seven children, four sons and three daughters, George E of Seattle, WA, S. Ed. of Portland, Oregon, Fred J of Arlington, Lee E of Marshall, Arkansas, Mrs Mary E Johnson of Grey Eagle, MN, Mrs Kate Wheeler of Denver, CO and Mrs Belle Reno Of Oakdale. All were present at the funeral except Ed and Mrs Wheeler. The sincere sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved sons and daughters.

MARY A BRACKETT

Mrs. Brackett of Ewing, formerly of this place, died last Saturday morning, April 7, 1888, after an illness of only two days. Her remains were brought to Oakdale Monday morning. A large concourse of friends gathered at the Presbyterian Church to listen to the address given by Rev. H. WILSON, and followed the remains to the cemetery (Oakdale).
