Obituary-The Oakdale Sentinel-September 16, 1927

JENNIE L COOPER CAMPBELL

Abridged: Jennie L CAMPBELL, the daughter of Benjamin and Lucy COOPER, was born February 26, 1852 at Beetown, WI. At the age of five she moved with her parents and one brother to Bloomington, WI, where she lived and grew to womanhood. She attended the Public School and later an academy. At the age of seventeen she commenced teaching and successfully taught a number of terms in rural and town schools. In the spring of 1880 she came with her parents, six brothers and one sister to Oakdale arriving her March 12. Mrs CAMPBELL has married twice. A son, Frank E KILBY preceded her in death, and within the past 25 years she has been called upon to mourn the passing of her parents, five brothers and one sister. Only one original family survives, Mr Charles A COOPER, a brother. Mrs CAMPBELL has been in poor health for a number of years. She was converted to the M. E. Church in 1885 and maintained the faith until death. She passed out of this life Saturday morning, September 10, 1927. One brother survives and six nephews and six nieces. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, September 12 and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
