RASMUS P CLEMENSEN

Abridged: R. P. CLEMENSEN was born in Hjorene, Denmark, December 9, 1877 and at the age of 9 years came with his mother, three sisters and two brothers to the United States. The family first located in Turin, Iowa where he attended school. Mr CLEMENSEN united with the Lutheran Church at the age of 16 and was faithful to his vows all the days of his life. On March 16, 1905 he married Miss Lulu CORK. In 1907 they moved to Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa where their first child was born. They then moved to Ewing, Nebraska for about two years and then to a farm south of Oakdale. They remained there for about four years and then moved to town so that the children might have the best educational advantages. He was an active school board member and deserves considerable credit for the new gymnasium and splendid corps of Teachers that have served from time to time. Those who suffer most are, the wife, two daughters and two sons, a dear old mother, fours sisters, and two brothers; besides these, other relatives and friends. He passed away on April 17, 1923. Funeral services were held April 19, at the M. E. Church and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
