CHRISTINA MATILDA JENSEN DRAKE

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27 at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Mrs Theodore (Christina) DRAKE, 82, of Omaha, formerly of Oakdale. The Rev. Alvin SCHWARTING officiated at the service and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Leonard OBERSHAW, Virgil PREVO, Elmer MUSSER, Dean BROWN, Clarence STRAHM and Ralph KINNAN. Christina Matilda DRAKE, daughter of Mr and Mrs Peter JENSEN, was born May 19, 1888 at Blair and died December 22, 1970 at an Omaha nursing home after an extended illness. On July 12, 1911 she was married to Theodore DRAKE at Oakdale where they resided until 1943 when they moved to Omaha. Survivors include her widow, Theodore A of Omaha, one son, Harry B of Council Bluffs, two brothers, Frank JENSEN of Oakdale and James JENSEN of Wheatland, North Dakota, one sister, Mrs Clara MURPHY of Twin Falls, Idaho and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Peter and Clifford, one brother and two sisters.

CLIFFORD DRAKE

Military funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Clifford DRAKE, 41, of Omaha, formerly of Oakdale, who died October 18, 1956 in an Omaha Hospital. The Rev. Robert FOLKERS of the Evangelical United Brethren Church officiated at the rites. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Clifford DRAKE, son of Mr and Mrs Theodore DRAKE, was born December 9, 1914. He spent most of his life in the Oakdale community until about 10 years ago when he moved to Omaha. He served in the armed forces and was a member of the E U B Church in Oakdale. Survivors include his parents of Omaha, and two brothers, Peter of Omaha and Harry of Council Bluffs.

MANZELLA AUSTIN DRAKE

Abridged: Manzella AUSTIN was born December 25, 1860 in Wyota, Wisconsin and died at the home of her son, Theodore DRAKE, south of Oakdale, October 27, 1913. She was married December 25, 1882 at Cadiz, Wisconsin to Merrit L. DRAKE. Three sons, Roscoe, died at eleven years, Theodore and Otha who with her husband survive. She leaves three sisters, Mrs Nat BINGER of Wisconsin, Mrs Joe BURKHEAD and Mrs William MARTINDALE of Oakdale, two brothers, Luther AUSTIN of Canada and John AUSTIN of Oakdale, a daughter-in-law and one little grandson. Funeral services were conducted at the Star United Brethren Church on Wednesday, Rev. BLAKELEY officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

MERRIT LINCOLN DRAKE

Abridged: Merrit Lincoln DRAKE was born near Clarno, WI August 31, 1869 and passed away at his home in San Bernardino, CA on Sunday November 4, 1928. His parents were Jeffrey and Mohola DRAKE. On December 25, 1882 he was married to Manzella AUSTIN at Cadiz, WI. To this union were born three sons, Theodore, Otha and Roscoe, the latter passing away in childhood. On October 27, 1913 his wife passed away after a lingering illness. He then married Pearl WHEELER MARTINDALE on April 25, 1917. To this union were born two sons, Maynard and Leland. The family moved to California in September 1927. He leaves his wife and two sons, Maynard and Leland of California, two sons, Theo and Otha of Oakdale, one stepson, Raymond MARTINDALE, six grandchildren, one brother, Thomas of Long Beach, CA, and a sister, Ida HOWDER of Winslow, IL. One sister and two brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 10, in Oakdale and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery beside his wife.

THEODORE A. DRAKE

Services for Theodore A. DRAKE, 90, Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Oakdale, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Marshall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. Alvin SCHWARTING will officiate with burial in Oakdale Cemetery. The body will lie in state 3-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The son of Mr and Mrs Merritt LINCOLN, he was born September 26, 1887, in rural Oakdale and died Tuesday, May 2, 1978, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. He was married to Christina JENSEN July 12, 1911, at Oakdale. He farmed and operated a trucking business in Oakdale. He moved to Omaha in 1944, where he worked for Armour and Co. He lived with his son in Council Bluffs from 1974 until entering a nursing home a year ago. His wife died in 1970. Survivors include one son, Harry B. of Council Bluffs, one brother, Otha of Union City, California, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons.
