EYMANN

A baby girl was born to Mr and Mrs Chris EYMANN on Wednesday, October 28, 1931 but the home was saddened as the little one passed away a few hours later, October 28, 1931. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. S. Kauffroath from the home Thursday afternoon. Dorothy TELGREN and Neola PREVO sang a duet. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery.

ANNA EYMANN

Mrs S. EYMANN died Tuesday November 29, 1909 at the home of her daughter, Mrs John EISSLER, Jr east of town. She was born in Switzerland, September 14, 1850. On November 26, 1871 she married S. EYMANN and to them were born 15 children, three of whom, one son and two daughters preceded their mother to the grave. Mr and Mrs EYMANN came to America March 2, 1902, coming directly to Oakdale. Survivors are; Mrs Annie CRAIG, Samuel, Gottfried and Emill EYMANN and Mrs Bertha STERN all of Switzerland; Robert EYMANN of Disney, Nebraska, Ernest, Alfred, William, Chris and Hans EYMANN and Mrs Martha EISSLER all of Oakdale. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Brethren Church after which interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Chriss EYMANN

Chriss Eymann, aged fifty-seven years, seven months and three days, resident of Antelope County for many years, passed away at his home Monday morning, January 13, 1947. He was born May 20, 1889, to Samuel and Anna Eymann in Bern, Switzerland, coming to this country at the age of thirteen to locate near Tilden. When fifteen years of age, he was confirmed into the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Tilden. Later when residing near Oakdale he became a member of the United Brethren church at Oakdale. He was united in marriage to Hattie May Retzlaff on December 1, 1913, at the home of her parents in Oakdale. To this union were born eleven children: Hattie May Retzlaff, Cleona Sharples of Petersburg; Delores Bates of Omaha; Alvin Eymann and Hans Eymann at home; George Eymann of Oakdale; Kenneth Eymann of Lincoln; Betty Rittscher of Omaha; Stanley Eymann, Marlene Eymann and Donna Eymann at home. An infant daughter preceded him in death. Most of their married life was spent in or around Oakdale. He devoted his entire life to farming. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife; ten children; five brothers and one sister, all of Omaha; four grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted in the Methodist church this afternoon (Thursday) by Rev. Robert Herin, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church, assisted by Rev. Dawson J. Park, Methodist minister. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.

HATTIE MAE RETZLAFF EYMANN

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Mrs Hattie EYMANN, 64. the Rev I. Lester Hart officiated. Pallbearers were Dean BROWN, Chester OLIN, Keith , Donald OFE, Bennie BRANDT and Bruce WINDER. Honorary pallbearers were George HUNTER, Harry COOPER, Earl MCNARE, Raymond TAYLOR, Grover HALSEY and Guy TAYLOR. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Hattie Mae RETZLAFF was born May 4, 1896 at Oakdale. She suffered a heart attack and died at her home in Oakdale, February 19, 1961. She grew to womanhood in the Oakdale community. On December 1, 1913 she was united in marriage to Charles EYMANN at her parents home in Oakdale. They lived most of their married life in and around Oakdale. They were members of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. All five of her sons served their country as members of the armed forces and she was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs Edgar SHARPLE and Mrs Adolph RITTSCHER, Tilden, Mrs Claude FORSLUND, Meadow Grove, Mrs Kenneth SMITH, Norfolk, Mrs Eugene WOSLAGER, Carter Lake, Iowa, five sons, Alvin of O’Neill, Hans, Tampico, George, Papillion, Kenneth of Columbus and Stanley of Tilden, one brother, Fred RETZLAFF, Los Alamito, California, one sister, Mrs Fannie STORY, Council Bluffs, Iowa; 31 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947, an infant daughter, her parents and two of their children.

The year old child of Mr and Mrs Eymann died yesterday, October 7, 1909, afternoon of cholera. Funeral services will be held Sunday.

SAMUEL EYMANN

After a long illness, Samuel EYMANN died at Omaha Saturday, September 1, 1917, heart trouble being the cause of death. The deceased was born in Switzerland, October 22, 1844. He continued to reside in his native country until well toward sixty years of age when he came to America, arriving at Oakdale during the year 1902. With the exception of brief intervals with his children at other points, Oakdale was his home to the day of his death. He was married in 1869, his good wife departing this life November 30, 1909. To Mr. and Mrs. EYMANN were born fifteen children, ten boys and five girls, twelve of whom survive. They are Mrs. Annie BITTLER, Samuel, Gottfried and Emil, living in Switzerland, Robert of Calhoun, NE, Ernest of Omaha, Alfred of Table Rock, Chris of Elgin, Hans and William of Oakdale, Mrs. Bertha STERN of Omaha, Mrs. Martha EISSLER of Oakdale. He is survived also by twenty-seven grandchildren. Mr. EYMANN was one of nature's noblemen. He gave full allegiance to the country of his adoption and was an honorable citizen. The remains were brought to Oakdale Sunday and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the United Brethren Church, conducted by the pastor of the Tilden German Evangelical Church. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. The services were largely attended.
