CHARLES EDGAR FLEHARTY

C. E. Fleharty, 63, died at a Norfolk hospital last Wednesday night following a week’s illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Paul Ward, pastor of the United Brethren church. Burial was made in the Oakdale Cemetery. Charles Edgar FLEHARTY was born in Briscoe, Adams County, Iowa on September 6, 1881, and passed away at the Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska, on November 29, 1944, where he was a patient for four days. He grew to manhood in Iowa and was married to Elva Geraldine PLOWMAN on December 3, 1901. To this union nine children were born. They are: wife Elva Geraldine PLOWMAN, 9 children: Mrs. Muriel DONNELLY and Mrs. Hazel FARRENS of Long Beach, Ca., Clarence FLEHARTY of Oakdale, Lester FLEHARTY of Fairmont, Ernest FLEHARTY of Ewing, Mrs. Doris KINNAN of Oakdale, Orvel FLEHARTY of Camp Robinson, Ark., Mrs. Mae HUNT of Nebraska City, and Mrs. Ella FALLESEN of Elgin. They farmed in Bonesteel, SD., from 1906 to 1912 at that time moving to town where he was manager of the Nye Jenks Grain Company for five years. He was transferred from there to Oakdale, continuing management for the same company for nine years. since that time he had been engaged in different occupations. He is survived by his widow and nine children, 18 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, one sister Mrs. Sadie BENNET, Corning, Iowa. Four brothers, Bill FLEHARTY of Oklahoma, Art FLEHARTY of Washington, Ernest FLEHARTY of Corning, Iowa.
