JOHN LOUIS HAUSWIRTH

Funeral services for John L HAUSWIRTH were held Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Methodist Church with the Rev. Willis R. TAPLIN officiating. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Ralph KINNAN, Bernard RUTERBORIES, Michael WAGNER, James RUTERBORIES , Ralph OFE and Ivan KINNAN serving as pallbearers. John Louis HAUSWIRTH, son of Louis and Nancy HAUGHENBERRY HAUSWIRTH, was born September 29, 1883 at Harlan, Iowa and died Friday, May 13, 1966 at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 13 days. He came to the Osmond vicinity with his parents three years before the town was founded. His first years of schooling were at the LAMBERT farmhouse. He was baptized in the Presbyterian faith. Years later he began his life career of farming in the Osmond area. In 1912 he was married to Alta M DEWEY of Ulysses. They moved to a farm nine miles from Pierce, then to Osmond. Later they moved to a farm south of Plainview on the willow. They moved to the Oakdale community during the depression years where they resided until he retired from farming and moved to Oakdale. Survivors include his wife, daughter, Mrs Roy BLACK of Neligh, son, John D of Oakdale, five granddaughters, and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.
