August A. KALLHOFF

Funeral services for August A. Kallhoff, 85, of Tilden, were held Monday, April 29, 1991, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Tilden. Rev. John Mansell and Rev. Allene Parker officiated. Interment was at the Tilden City Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Bill Hansen, Cliff Strahm, Leon Mennenga, Gordon Eymann, Dave Thompson and Keith Redinbaugh. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Wingate, Carsten Lorenzen, Darrell Neitzke, Elmer Wagner, H. L. (Bud)Greene, Carroll Gustman, Carl Knievel and Harold Myhre. Mr. Kallhoff died at the Tilden Nursing Center on April 26. The son of Theodore and Elizabeth (Ruterbories) Kallhoff, he was born southwest of Clearwater on Feb. 6, 1906. He attended District 73 in Antelope County and graduated from the 10th grade. On Sept. 22, 1931, he was married to Nilah Buck at Columbus. They resided at Elgin until 1942 when they moved to a farm southwest of Tilden. There he continued to farm until retiring and moving to Tilden in 1973. In his retirement, he served as custodian of the Tilden Bank for eight years. He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ and served on its church board. He was also a 4-H leader. Survivors include his wife; one son, Duane Kallhoff of Tilden; one daughter, Donna Carstensen of Lincoln; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

THERESA LUCILLE KALLHOFF

Funeral services for Theresa Lucille KALLHOFF, 76, of Oakdale, were held Tuesday, March 22 at St Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. Rev. Frank BAUMERT officiated. Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery with arrangements by Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home of Neligh. Pallbearers were Lance SCHROEDER, Jim LYONS, Fred SCHULTZ, Mike BOWER, John SCHULTZ and Francis RUTERBORIES. Theresa Lucille KALLHOFF, daughter of Frank and Josephine (RUTERBORIES) KALLHOFF was born September 8, 1917 at Ewing. She attended school at Elgin. During the 1950’s she owned and operated a cafe in Clearwater and then moved to Oakdale where she was lunch room supervisor for Neligh and Tilden schools. She was a member of the St Francis Catholic Church and its Sodality. Mrs KALLHOFF died Saturday, March 19, 1994, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Survivors include a sister, Mrs Robert (Agnes) O’DEY of Tilden.
