"Oakdale Man killed at Meadow Grove"

A. J. Kelly died at Meadow Grove this morning as the result of injuries received Thursday evening while unloading the Scott traction engine and separator from a flat car. Coupled to the separator the engine had been safely landed under its own power. When the separator started down the incline the drawbar broke and the heavy machine crashed into the engine pinning Kelly between the feeder and the steering wheel. He was extricated and given prompt attention by Dr. Kindred. His abdomen was crushed, and although it was evident that he could not live, Dr. Campbell was called from Norfolk, but his surgical skill was exerted in vain.

The remains were brought to Oakdale this afternoon. Funeral services will be held Sunday, under the direction of the Odd Fellows and burial will be made in the Oakdale cemetery.
