GILBERT WALTER KLOEPPER

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Methodist Church for Walter KLOEPPER, Sr of Oakdale. Mr Alvin SCHWARTING officiated at the service and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry WILGOCKI, William MILLER, Orville SHERMAN, Dale KRAFT, Joe GROSSERODE and Gerhardt HUNTEMANN. Gilbert Walter KLOEPPER was born in Gage County, Nebraska on July 21, 1889 to Henry and Elizabeth KLOEPPER. He died Sunday, June 29, 1975, at Antelope Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 18 days. When 21 years of age, he moved with his parents to a farm in Holt County. On March 3, 1921, at Butte, he was united in marriage with Rosa Ann Wilhelmina GRUNKE. They resided in Holt County for six years and in 1927 moved to Antelope County where he farmed until his death. To this union three sons were born. Survivors include his wife Rosa, sons, Elmer of Tilden, Ivan of Elgin, and Walter of Oakdale, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

ROSA ANNA WILHELMINA GRUNKE KLOEPPER

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 3 at the Methodist Church in Oakdale for Mrs Rosa Anna KLOEPPER of rural Oakdale. Mr Alvin SCHWARTING officiated at the services and burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry WILGOCKI, Orville SHERMAN, Joe GROSSERODE, William MILLER, Robert VERPLANK, and Dale KRAFT. Rosa Anna Wilhelmina GRUNKE KLOEPPER was born at West Point in Cumming County to Mr and Mrs William GRUNKE on August 14, 1901. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church at West Point. From West Point the family moved to Creighton where she spent her early years. Later they moved to Wisconsin where she received her education. The family then moved to O’Neill and on March 3, 1921, she was married to G. Walter KLOEPPER at butte. To this union three sons were born, Elmer, Ivan and Walter Jr. The couple farmed in O’Neill and Brunswick vicinities and later at Tilden and Oakdale where they resided on a farm south of Oakdale for 17 years. Mrs KLOEPPER died April 30, 1976, at Antelope Memorial Hospital at Neligh at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 17 days. Survivors include sons, Elmer of Tilden, Ivan of Elgin and Walter Jr of Oakdale, five grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband G. Walter in June of 1975, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

WALTER KLOEPPER

Funeral services for Walter KLOEPPER, 59, of Oakdale, were held Wednesday, August 30, at the United Methodist Church in Oakdale. The Rev. Martha VOIGHT officiated. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery with arrangements by Hoepfinger-Byer Funeral Home of Neligh. Pallbearers were: Jim PENNE, Harlan BRANDT, Randy NELSON, Don GROSSERODE, Keith BOSSARD and Brad DIETZ. Friends served as honorary pallbearers. Walter KLOEPPER, son of Gilbert and Wilhelmina (GRUNKE) KLOEPPER, was born February 16, 1936, at Brunswick. He graduated from Tilden High School in 1953 and served in the Army National Guard. He farmed in Antelope County all his life. He was member of the Oakdale Rural Fire Department and past member of the Oakdale Cemetery Board and Oakdale Township Board. Mr. KLOEPPER died Saturday, August 26, 1995, at an Omaha hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew. Surviviors include two brothers, Elmer KLOEPPER of Tilden and Ivan KLOEPPER of Elgin.
