CORNELIA PEETS KRAFT

Funeral services for Mrs Cornelia KRAFT of Sioux City, Iowa were held Monday afternoon, June 10, at the Neligh Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. G. HOLQHAUER of South Sioux City officiating. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Guy FREDINBURG, Oris BRINK, Glen THOMAS, Lee TIMM, Irvin WAGNER, and Ralph HUNTER serving as pallbearers. Cornelia KRAFT, the daughter of George and Catherine PEETS, was born September 26, 1892 at Oakdale and died Jun 7, 1963 in a Sioux City hospital at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 11 days. She grew to womanhood in the Oakdale community. On June 3, 1916 she was married to Fred KRAFT of Oakdale and to this union one daughter was born. They resided in Oakdale until 1940 when they moved to Sioux City. She was employed by the Wincharger Corp. for 15 years, retiring in 1957. Mrs KRAFT was a member of the Sioux city St Paul Lutheran Church, the Woman’s League and Woman’s Society of the church. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs Raymond DITTRICH of Humboldt, Iowa, her mother, Mrs Catherine PEETS, Oakdale, a brother, Charles PEETS, Oakdale, three grandchildren and other relatives.

ELZA VIOLA RINGS KRAFT

Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Monday for Mrs John KRAFT Sr, 61, of Oakdale, died Thursday, April 18, 1957, in Antelope Memorial Hospital following a long illness. The Rev. I Lester HART officiated at the services and at burial in the Oakdale Cemetery. The Hoepfinger Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements. Elza Viola RINGS was born February 23, 1896 to Mr and Mrs David RINGS at Elgin. December 27, 1916 she was married to John KRAFT and to this union were born six children. They made their home on a ranch near Ewing until moving to Osborne, Kansas in1923 where they farmed for three years. After this they moved to Callaway, Nebraska and in 1928 they returned to Ewing for several years. Later the family purchased a farm north of Neligh where they lived until two years ago when they moved to their present home at Oakdale. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs Everett KIRSTEIN of Neligh and Mrs Raymond HAUSER of Creighton, four sons, William at home, Donald of Omaha, Dale of Oakdale, and John Jr of Neligh, 10 grandchildren, one brother, David RINGS of Clearwater and three sisters, Mrs Susie WEEDER, Mrs Clara SHEETS, and Mrs Effie MCCLOUD of Elgin. Pallbearers were Clyde WAGNER of Gothenburg, Dick and Ike KINNAN of Oakdale, Gail WILCOX and Bill PETERS of Clearwater and Ivan CARLSON of Elgin.

FRED JOHN KRAFT

Funeral services for Fred John KRAFT were held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hoepfinger Home for Funerals with the Rev Carl PULLMANN pastor of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery with Guy FREDINBURG, Enos ADAMS, Orris BRINK, Irven WAGNER, Ralph EDWARDS and Glenn THOMAS serving as pallbearers. Fred John KRAFT, the son of Carl and Emma Laura KRAFT, was born January 14, 1893 at Paxton, Nebraska and died March 2, 1962 at St Vincent’s Hospital at Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 69 years, 1 month, and 18 days. The family lived at Paxton for several years moving to Meadow Grove where he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1911 they moved to the Oakdale community and were engaged in farming. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Mrs Raymond DITTRICH of Humboldt, Iowa, two granddaughters, one grandson, one sister, Mrs Gertrude WAUER of Neligh, one brother, William KRAFT of O’Neill, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.

WALTER G KRAFT

Funeral services were held Monday, February 12, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ at Oakdale for Walter G KRAFT with Mr Alvin SCHWARTING of Oakdale officiating at the service. Interment was in the Oakdale Cemetery and serving as pallbearers were Roy OFE, Leroy BULLOCK, Dean BROWN, Ivan KINNAN, Louis KINNAN, and Irvie SCHWARTING. Walter G KRAFT was born September 27, 1890 at Osborne, Kansas and died February 9, 1968 at Antelope Memorial Hospital at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 12 days. He spent his boyhood in Osborne and later moved to Canada and Montana where he homesteaded with his brother, George. He served with the U S Army at Fort Riley, Kansas during World War I and was discharged September 17, 1918 and then returned to Osborne and farmed with his father for several years. In 1922 he and his father moved to Callaway and later resided in Oregon and Washington, returning to Nebraska in 1938 where he farmed at Clearwater. He moved to Oakdale in 1962 where he resided at the time he became ill. Survivors include three brothers, John of Neligh, Charley of Stapleton and George of sweet Home, Oregon, and one sister, Mae DEAVERS. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
