Henry G LANGLEY

Abridged: Henry G Langley, son of Robert G and Isabelle H Langley, was born in Washington DC, October 31, 1871. He came to Nebraska in 1878 and settled with his parents in Decatur. He attended school in Decatur and later taught school there and at the Government Indian School at Winnebago. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1903. On September 9, 1903 he married Agnes L Leach of Oakdale. He began his work in the ministry at Leigh in 1903. He served churches in Ponca, Laurel, Stanton, Omaha, Central City, Geneva, Superior and Grand Island. He retired in 1937 and was good health until he suffered a heart attack in 1951 from which he never fully recovered and passed away at his home in Oakdale on May 21, 1952. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Doris, (Mrs Lawrence Rohrbaugh) of Norman, OK, three brothers, Clarence of Spalding, Ralph of Primghar, IA, and George of San Bernardino, CA and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and an infant sister and by his brother Will. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church and interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
