BLANCH IRENE MARKLEY

Died on December 23, 1902, Blanch Irene MARKLEY, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs L. A. MARKLEY. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the home by the pastor of the United Brethren Church and the body was laid to rest in the Oakdale Cemetery.

LEWIS ALBERT MARKLEY

Lewis Albert MARKLEY was born November 20, 1871, at Lyons, Nebraska, the second son in a family of nine children born to Ben and Catherine MARKLEY. When about twelve years of age, he came to Antelope County, Nebraska, and this locality had been his home most of the time since. In October 1903, he was married to Miss Ida HICKMAN of Oakdale, Nebraska, and to this union was born two sons and one daughter, of whom only one son, Ralph, survives. Mr. MARKLEY had been in failing health since last November. On Monday, August 19, he was taken to a Norfolk hospital where he passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 1946, aged seventy-four years, nine months and seven days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his son Ralph MARKLEY in California, four sisters; Mrs. Mary BARTLETT and Mrs. Anna PATRONE of Modesto, Ca; Mrs. Flora SMITH, Elsinore, Ca., Mrs. Lowell O’SULLIVAN and brother Ed MARKLEY of Oakdale; besides three grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. The Rev. C. W. SMITH of the Tilden Methodist church conducted funeral services Saturday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church. Internment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
